I'm downloading this game and playing it, but right now I don't have any events or quests, and when I talk to npc, all I see is the option of nothing... should I play the game all over again?
seems like you have encountered an bug. Try restarting the game or download the test version 0.0.2 on discord, where some bugs are fixed.
Firstly, congratulations on getting your game out dude. Secondly I have much to say regarding it thus far. I think its strongest point is honestly the presentation. For a simple unity game with 3D graphics I think you got a good portion of it down quite well. Now for some feedback. Getting used to the controls take quite a bit to get used to along with the first person perspective. Something that did bug me a bit though was the animations was during the breakfast or dinner scene as it were. Since the game is entirely 3D it lets you see the reactions of the other characters as they speak yet, Sarah's got this happy emotion going on while Benjamin and Lucy are having a fight. Then there's another animation with Sarah where after the dinner you talk with her and depending on where you start the conversation, she will perform an animation and be stuck with that animation when asking other things until you finish the conversation. The last animation related thing is honestly when sitting down to eat you are stuck looking up at the ceiling until you realize you should be facing Sarah as she speaks, missed some dialogue because of that. If I could suggest it, do adjust your tutorial. As it is right now I think it is somewhat serviceable for the core functions but fails on two things: 1. It fails to inform the player how to save. It took me the better part of half an hour to figure out that you save by interacting with the bed which kinda makes sense but personally I wouldn't mind if it was possible to do so through the phone. Since walking all the way back to the room can be a bit of a slog when you can't exactly run yet (or at least that I'm aware of). 2. The interact key should be a bit more obvious. While I got a bit lucky figuring that out when opening a door and realizing I had to use it to pick up another dirty dish, I think the controls should be a bit easier for players to understand. My personal suggestion would be to have the 'E' key prompt when hugging either the aunt or cousin when you first arrive. Something to compliment though would honestly be the lighting, it isn't too harsh but feels quite warm during the times of day (though the clock in the bedroom could be fixed to be a bit more accurate to the time of day).
I wish you the best of luck with development. I will hold off on any rating until a bit more comes around, be it the gallery or more content to properly discuss since it really is in its infancy. For the moment however, it has a strong impression of what it promises later down the line.
Thank you for your detailed feedback! I really appreciate the ideas, especially the one about saving from the phone. I'm not sure if I'll be able to fix everything by the next update since there were quite a few bugs and minor design issues identified. However, I'll definitely make an effort to address the mentioned points in later updates!
Happy to help. There's a lot of potential with your game, I look forward to how it develops. Best of luck dude and take your time.
